Hello!

I'm running XBMC on Ubuntu Karmic 9.10. Here is my hardware setup:

• HDMI: Toshiba 62" DLP television
  • eagerly awaiting Panasonic's 3D-compatible 1080p plasma - spring 2010!
• S/PDIF: Pioneer Dolby Digital/DTS wireless headphone base station
• IR: USB-UIRT IR receiver, Harmony One

And my software:

• Netatalk: media access and Time Machine for MacBook Pro and Mac Mini (upstairs TV)
• Apache: to serve some web sites
• other stuff I'll add later...

Config issues I've had:

• Getting movies with 5.1 passthrough and 2 channel audio working with menu sounds
  • small thing, but nice to have ;o)
• Video is very dark (nvidia)
  • I think I need to investigate nvidia X settings for this, but turned up my TV brightness for now
• The control bar pops up sometimes when playing videos, but only for a second
  • dunno what this is - very "ghost like"
• Netatalk 2.0.4 doesn't have native TM support (although there are workarounds)
  • noticed 2.0.5 does, so I decided to wait for Ubuntu to add it to Karmic before setting up TM
  • it's already in for Lucid, but I don't know if they'll port it to Karmic as well
