A pre-made installation of XBMC on Ubuntu can be found with XBMCbuntu (aka XBMC Live).
The community has also made multiple guides for installing XBMC on Ubuntu:
- HOW-TO:Install XBMC on Ubuntu/HOW-TO 2: A very precise, step by step guide to installing a basic XBMC setup in ubuntu, with the purposes of using the computer as a home theater setup.
- HOW-TO:Install XBMC on Ubuntu/HOW-TO 3: A minimalist installation walk-through intended to create a system similar to XBMC Live. Intermediate knowledge of Linux and basic installation procedures is recommended.
