fff This is the XBMC Online Manual, (see About this Manual). Its existence is based solely on the contributions of the members of the community, at present this manual still remains incomplete, although it comes closer on a daily basis due to the contributions of the community, so please feel free to pitch in and make any changes you see fit, that way as XBMC evolves this manual will continue to evolve as well. Check the Wanted Pages to see what is currently most needed, and make sure that you follow our editing and formatting standard (for more information please see the wiki help section. If you are unsure if you should put some information in here or not, please feel free to drop by to #xbmc on freenode. As XBMC is updated on a daily basis, there may be functionality documented here that does not yet exist in any available point releases of XBMC and can only be found in the XBMC SVN. If your version seems to be missing a feature, check the full changelog to ensure that the feature is not newer than the build of XBMC that you are currently running.
Please note that due to vandalism we had to disable anonymous editing and creating of wiki articles indefinitely. Registered users may edit existing pages. Those of you who help us by contributing to this wiki might want to keep an eye on the Recent Changes and Newest Pages articles.
This user-guide manual for XBMC was created in order to consolidate the vast amounts of information accrued over the years. Although this manual was spawned by the visions of few that came before it, it came into being and will continue to be updated through the perspiration of many people from the XBMC community. Feel free to contribute in any way that you can. If something's missing, add it. If something's jacked up, fix it. XBMC always has and always will be a community effort, and its documentation should exist along those same lines. This manual was written using the default skin, Project Mayhem III, and uses the default keymapping for consistency.
The following lists the table of contents of this manual which you will find at the right side on every page to help you navigate the manual.
